Notifications and reminders

Updated 2 min read

Quick answer

The Notifications page in the sidebar collects every alert: warranty expirations, maintenance reminders, household activity, and account events. Control which types fire, and whether they arrive in-app, by email, or by push, in Settings, Notifications.

HomeRecall's job is to remember things for you, and notifications are how it speaks up: before a warranty closes, when maintenance comes due, and when something changes in a shared home.

The notification center

Click Notifications in the sidebar to see every alert in one place. Filter by All, Unread, Maintenance, Warranty, or System, and mark alerts read one at a time or all at once.

What you can be notified about

  • Warranty expirations: 90, 30, and 7 days before, 1 day before, and on the day
  • Maintenance reminders: upcoming schedules, due dates, and overdue tasks
  • Family and household activity: members joining, adding items, or uploading files
  • Document updates: documents or receipts created or changed
  • Storage alerts: warnings at 50%, 75%, and 90% of your storage limit
  • Billing events: renewals, payment issues, and plan changes
  • News and product updates: new features and announcements

Choosing channels

In Settings, Notifications, each category has its own toggle, and delivery channels are separate: in-app is always available, email goes to your account address, and push reaches your phone when the app is installed.

Tip:Set quiet hours in Settings, Notifications and nothing will interrupt your evenings; alerts wait until morning.

Troubleshooting

Common problems and how to fix them.

I'm getting too many notifications.

Go to Settings, Notifications and turn off the categories you don't want. Each type (warranties, maintenance, family activity, documents, storage, billing, and product news) has its own toggle, and quiet hours silence everything overnight.

I'm not getting emails.

Check that Email Notifications is on in Settings, Notifications, and look in your spam folder for messages from homerecall.com. In-app and email channels are controlled separately.

Push notifications don't arrive on my phone.

Push requires the app installed to your home screen and notification permission granted to your browser. Re-enable it in Settings, Notifications, and accept the permission prompt.
