How Do I Import Data from Another App?

HomeRecall supports importing inventory data from CSV files. If you have existing records in a spreadsheet, another app, or an insurance inventory, you can import them directly.

Prepare your CSV

Format your data as a spreadsheet with columns for: Name, Room, Category, Brand, Model, Serial Number, Purchase Date, Purchase Price, Notes.

Go to Inventory

Navigate to the Inventory section.

Click Import

Click the Import button (available from the menu or settings).

Upload your CSV

Select your prepared CSV file.

Map your columns

Match your CSV columns to HomeRecall's fields.

Preview and confirm

Review the import preview, then click Import Items.

Tip:Download the HomeRecall CSV template from the Import screen to make sure your data is formatted correctly before importing.

Note:Document attachments cannot be imported via CSV. After importing, you can manually attach photos and files to each item.
